For this project, I have decided to build a website to show pictures of my completed project, as well as share information about the best resources I found for other people who want to learn to sew. I just got a Mac, and discovered iWeb. It makes website design much easier than what I have done in the past (writing the HTML myself and crossing my fingers that it works properly). My website will include:
- A link to this blog
- Pictures of my journey toward a hemmed curtain
- Resources (including links to websites) that I found useful
- Links and information about the four types of technology that I used to complete the project
This is the first phase of the “communication” step in the Pathways to Knowledge model. This step in the model is called “using my information”. Students in this phase are taught to decide on a format to communicate the information they have found. I decided to use a website to present my final project because it allows me to bring all of the information together in one place. Students are also asked to organize the information and determine if they have answered all of their questions (Pappas). I believe that I have accomplished both in my final product.
